You have a right to dispute inaccurate information in your credit report by contacting the credit bureau directly.

You may also contact the creditor directly if you believe information is inaccurate.

The credit bureau must investigate your dispute and respond within 30 days.

If inaccurate information is verified, it must be corrected or removed.

  • Obtain a copy of your credit report
  • Dispute inaccurate or incomplete information
  • Add a consumer statement to your report
  • Seek damages from credit repair companies that violate the law

YOU SHOULD KNOW:

  • You do NOT need to purchase services from any credit repair company
  • You can fix your credit yourself at no cost
  • Accurate negative information cannot be removed

IMPORTANT NOTICE:

You have the right to cancel any contract with a credit repair organization within 3 business days of signing it, without charge.
